Something to scream about
Cannon has recently started to scream and look at the camera when pictures are being taken of him. It is really hard to get a decent smile out of him when I am taking pictures now. I usually end up with getting a bunch of pictures with Cannon's mouth wide open. Even though it is frustrating while in the moment of trying to capture "the perfect picture", these pictures are funny to look back on. Most of the pictures on here are ones of Cannon playing his toy piano. I tried and tried to get a cute one of him smiling normally while playing his piano, but no such luck.

Wedding, Wedding, and Another Wedding
Since the last time I blogged, we have been to THREE weddings! Blaine and I were amazed that over the course of the summer, we were actually invited to 10 weddings! TEN! I still cannot believe that ten of our close friends/family members have gotten married, or are still about to get married, this summer. Unfortunately we have not been able to attend all of the weddings, but were able to go to almost half of them. The biggest weddings for us were my little brother Kyle's wedding and Blaine's younger brother Trevor's wedding. Kyle and Tanaira were married in the Salt Lake Temple on July 21st, and Trevor and Haley were married in the Spokane Temple on August 6th. Since I forgot my camera and had to buy a cheap disposable camera for Trevor's wedding, I was unable to post any pictures from his wedding on here. However, I did remember my camera for Kyle's wedding and posted some wedding/reception pictures below. The third wedding that we went to over the last month was my cousin Cameron's wedding last weekend. We are so happy and excited for all of the many couples who got married this summer and wish them the best!!!
Before I go, here is a little tidbit on Cannon: Six teeth and counting, pulls himself up onto everything, fascinated with dogs, dances to music, and will eat anything anyone gives to him. I'm glad he is not a picky eater like his mommy!

Ostrich Friend
Okay, so I know that I have been blogging a lot lately, but I had to put these pictures up. Cannon has recently found a new friend...his stuffed ostrich. Since he has a jungle theme in his room, my parents bought a few different stuffed zoo animals for Cannon a while back. It was not until recently that Cannon has become interested in them...especially the ostrich. "Why the ostrich"?, you ask...we have no idea!!! All we know is that for some reason this weird looking plush animal brings him happiness. Out of all his fun toys and cute stuffed animals, he had to choose the weirdest looking thing in his room to always bring a smile to his face. Even though I make fun of the ostrich, or "Osty", as I like to call him, I have to give the ostrich some credit. Ever since Cannon has shown interest in the ostrich, he goes down a lot easier for nap time and night time with Osty by his side. When he wakes up from his nap or from sleeping over night, we find him sitting up in his crib, holding Osty by the neck. It is pretty funny. And, Osty is pretty much about the only thing he will kiss! Whenever Cannon is holding the ostrich and we tell him to give it a kiss, 9/10 he will. Kisses for Blaine and I are less frequent. So sad! Anyway, overall, it is pretty cute how much Cannon loves Osty, his ostrich friend. Here are some BFF pics:

I also had to post some 4th of July pictures of Cannon and a couple of pictures of him in his new suit, for two of his uncles weddings this summer...

Crawling and More Teeth!
Over the last week or so, Cannon has finally started crawling! However, if he could choose between rolling over to get at something or actually crawling toward it, he would choose to roll. Our little rolling boy is getting so big! His first top tooth, and third overall, is coming in. Since he already has two bottom teeth, he likes to grind his teeth ALL the time. I HATE the sound of grinding teeth. The sound is almost as annoying, if not as annoying, as someone scratching their nails on a chalk board. But, Cannon doesn't seem to mind the noise at all.
Cannon has also become much more vocal in public places. For example, we will be at the grocery store pushing Cannon in the cart, and one minute he will be very quiet and just look around at everything, and then the next minute, out of nowhere, he will let out this screeching yell at the top of his lungs and just smile. I don't know why he does it or where it comes from, but it is actually pretty funny...just not always at the time.
Cannon also loves, loves, loves to swing at the park! We have a park down the street from our house in the neighborhood that we walk to. Whenever he gets a clear visual of the swings on our way toward them, he starts to get excited by kicking and attempting to launch his body out of the stroller to get at the swings.
Rolling balls back and forth, is another game Cannon has recently started to really enjoy. He will roll the ball back and forth to us until he has had enough, and will then throw the ball pretty far away and crawl or roll after it. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be a baseball player like Blaine, but I still have my hopes of him playing soccer like his mama. :)
Well those are some more updates on Cannon for the grandparents and anyone else who is curious. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer!

June Festivities
Where oh where did June go and July come from? Seriously though, the month of June went by incredibly fast! Even though it went by so quickly, we managed to squeeze in some fun.
In the beginning of June, Blaine and I went to see Jerry Seinfield perform at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake. I have always thought Seinfield was a funny guy. However, watching him "live" made him that much more entertaining. Additionally, if any of you watched the first season of The Marriage Ref on t.v., like myself, you are familiar with Tom Papa, the host of the show. Anyway, Papa was Seinfield's opening act, who was equally hilarious in my opinion. Overall, Blaine and I had a great time at the show!
Toward the end of June, our family took a road trip to Bend, OR to spend a week with my family. Blaine's brother, Brett, also lives near my parents, which was nice to spend time with him and his little family as well. Additionally, Blaine's parents and siblings came down to Oregon from Washington during the same time we were in town, which worked out well. We got to see both sides of family in one shot. :) We had a lot of fun hiking Smith Rock, bike riding (first time for Cannon),going to an Elk's baseball game, watching some movies, shopping, eating out, and just spending time together. Blaine practically went golfing with his brothers every day we were there, which he was pretty happy about since he doesn't golf much at home (I'm not a supporter of golf). Anyway, we had a great time and look forward to seeing our families again later this summer for my brother Kyle's wedding in July, and then for Blaine's brother Trevor's wedding in August. Anyway, here are some pictures taken last month in June:

Cannon's 9 month stats: 18 lbs 10 oz and 26.75 inches long. This puts him at 15% for height and 20% for weight.
