Cannon is 4 months!

I cannot believe that it has already been four months since Cannon was born! Cannon had his four month appointment with his pediatrician yesterday, and we found out that he is in the 25th percentile in length and the 55th percentile in weight. So, he is pretty much our short and stocky baby! :) Cannon is still wearing 0-3 month pant sizes and has finally moved up to 3-6 month shirt sizes. Slowly but surely our 14.5 pound four month old is getting there! Anyway, I wanted to post some recent pictures of our little man...

TUMMY TIME!!!

Ever since Cannon was born, Blaine and I have struggled with getting him to participate in "tummy time", which later resulted in us hardly ever doing it!...oops. Anyway, over the last few weeks we have started it up again. Now instead of crying the instant we place him on his tummy, he smiles and seems to like kicking his little chubby arms and legs out and about. His neck control has gotten much better too! Along with Cannon's better attitude toward tummy time, we have also noticed over the last few weeks that he has started going to bed earlier each night, napping more frequently during the day, reaching out and grabbing objects, and is an overall "happy go lucky" little man. We love Cannon so much and cannot picture our lives without him.

Christmas on the Farm

This last Christmas was spent with Blaine's family on the farm in Colville, WA. Cannon took his second trip on an airplane and did great! So far he has proved to be quite the little traveler! Cannon was able to meet his great grandparents and extended family members on Blaine's side of the family for the first time. We had a lot of fun visiting friends and family, watching movies, playing board games, shooting guns, and watching the Bateman boys play a few games of basketball. While in Washington, Blaine and I also celebrated our 2nd Anniversary. Blaine's parents were nice enough to watch Cannon for a few hours so Blaine and I could go out to dinner and celebrate. Overall, we had a nice trip and had a very Merry Christmas. We hope you all did too! Happy New Year!!!

Cannon's Crib

Well, we have finally completed Cannon's nursery. Blaine's dad built a crib for Cannon and brought it over to us during the Thanksgiving holiday. It turned out great! However, he left it to Blaine and I to paint or stain the crib, since he wasn't sure what color we wanted the crib to be. We chose to stain the crib and it looks pretty good! I am so excited to finally have Cannon's nursery finished and put together. Thanks Grandpa Bateman for the nice crib!

Santa Baby

My mom bought a cute little Santa outfit for Cannon to wear this year. She also bought him his very first stuffed Santa Clause! When I was a baby, my parents bought me a stuffed Santa Clause, which I still have, and thought they would pass down that tradition and do the same thing for Cannon. It was fun to compare my old raggedy Santa to Cannon's new and perfect Santa Clause. It was also funny dressing Cannon in his Santa Clause costume and placing the giant stuffed Santa next to him. He is getting so big, so fast! Anyway, I had to post some pictures of Cannon in his Santa Clause outfit and a picture of him in front of his very first Christmas tree!!!
